A WORKER DIED IN A MELTED CHOCOLATE VAT!

Posted by Meryl (proud pinay)

My husband always updates me about the news every time he arrives home from work and it was really sad to hear about the death of Vincent Smith who was in his 20's. He was a factory worker who died yesterday (July 9) in a manufacturing plant called Cocoa Services Inc. in Cemden, New Jersey after he fell into a vat of boiling chocolate. It's really horrible to know that he has been in the melting pot for about 10 minutes! He accidentally slipped and fell in the vat when he was hit by a piece of equipment called an agitator that is used to stir. His co-worker attempted to rescue him by trying to shut off the machine while the other workers pulled Vincent out of the 8 foot deep vat. But by the time he was pulled out, it was too late and he was already dead. It was a really heart-breaking news for the family of the deceased.

This is very sad. It is vital to have all safety precautions in a manufacturing industry.
