ENCHANTED KINGDOM LAGUNA

Posted by Meryl (proud pinay)

My officemates and I had some fun in a theme park located in Santa Rosa City, Laguna. I was so disappointed coz I didn't get an oppurtunity to try all the rides. I just remember riding in Anchors Away (Pirate Ship Ride), Flying Fiesta (Giant swing ride), Roller Skaters (Mini Roller Coaster), Rialto (Motion Simulator Theatre), Space Shuttle (Vekoma Boomerang roller coaster), Bump Car and others that I couldn't remember. One day is not enough to try all of the rides =( When we got tired and hungry we ate spaghetti, pizza, fried chicken and rice with drinks (at prices 50% or more than outside the park) while watching the bands performing at the bandstand. We also bought something at the souvenir shop. Ofcourse, a day at EK is not complete without watching the fireworks!(as if we don't get enough of fireworks during New Year...hehehe...but still pretty disappointing when you miss it! MY COUSIN'S WEDDING

Posted by Meryl (proud pinay)

We witnessed and became part of the very special day when my cousin Kuya Zernan and his bride-Ate Luz started their new life together as husband and wife. Finally, after nine years of friendship, tears and laughter, they decided to move on to the next chapter of their lives...getting married. They couldn't pick any other date except February 8, 2006...the very same day their love was born and said their first " I love you" to one another. I was chosen as one of the secondary sponsors (veil sponsor) and it was like a family reunion since most of the guests are my relatives. Congratulations to my cousin Kuya Zernan and Ate Luz! You had such a beautiful and successful wedding. ^_^

CLEARWATER RESORT IN PAMPANGA

Posted by Meryl (proud pinay)

I want to share with you our company outing experience in one of the most beautiful and relaxing resort in Pampanga. Really enjoyed staying in a big hectare resort in the economic zone of Clark. We enjoyed adventure sports, kayaking in a man-made fresh water lake, foolin' around in the hammocks, swimming in a white sandy beach like pool (and other huge pools), playing volleyball, staying and relaxing in airconditioned rooms with comfortable bed, television and clean bathrooms. This class AA resort has other sports facilities like golf at the putting green, biking/roller blade trail, lakeview amphitheater, lawn tennis, croquet, billiard, video games, darts, camp site, tent city, restaurant, fishing lagoon, sports club, adventure sports, air rifle shooting range and many more. While staying in Pampanga we also went to malls, specialty shops and tried the different dishes of Pampanga in some restaurants. Also, we saw a lot of food at night the town has to offer, from grilled pork, fried chickens, homemade hotdogs or anything that suits our taste (just ask and you will find hahaha). I'm so lucky that I am one of the organizers in our company outing so we were free to enjoy the life not only inside the resort but the life outside as well. AKLAN VISIT

Posted by Meryl (proud pinay)

We visited grandma's house at Numancia, Aklan. Five minutes away from Kalibo. Glad to see again my grandmother after a few years and glad to meet my other relatives as well. Tita Macy who cooked our everyday meal, Tita Elma who prepared a lot of delicious dishes, Tito Kano (Tita Elma's husband who is an American), my cousins and other relatives. I can see the happiness of my mom from her eyes when she saw my grandmother and other relatives again... she really missed them a looot. We also spent long day at the beach(not Bora) which is just few minutes away from my grandma's house. There were no noise bands and parties like that in Boracay. Just us, the waves (that invites everbody for surfing), the long beach and the beautiful and relaxing scenery. We also went to Gaisano Mall(of the Gaisano family-owned mall chains in the Visayas) and Kalibo Public Market which is considered one of the biggest markets in Aklan where you can find fresh fruits, vegetables, fish, poultry and meat products. We attended the mass at Kalibo Cathedral, a beautiful church with magnificent interior, elegant altar, special light effects and spotlights when the choir sings, when the priests preach, when the lector and commentators read and others that adds solemnity during the mass which is not common to the churches here in Manila. Beside the church is the Aklan Catholic College (where mom graduated as Cum Laude) and a spacious plaza infront of the church.Aklan is a very nice place...free from pollution and noise! Quite relaxing!(Note: This was my experience in the year 2005 and my review of AKLAN, PHILIPPINES )

CLUB MANILA EAST IN TAYTAY

Posted by Meryl (proud pinay)

My company outing experience in Club Manila East in Taytay, Rizal was fun. The place has large pools, boating area for kayaking and others. We had huge palatable dishes during lunch including my favorites (grilled foods), yummy snacks, had fun games in the pool and spent the rest of the day swimming and relaxing. The sun’s heat was just excellent, it’s neither too balmy to spoil the post-summer ambience nor too hot to burn you to death. My officemates who didn't want to swim that day was thrown out in the pool hehehe so all of us were really wet! This is a very nice resort. BORACAY

Posted by Meryl (proud pinay)

Free from stress and work!!! Vacation with mom and relatives at one of the favorite tourist destinations in the Philippines..Boracay!. Enjoyed the food, white sand, walking around the island and the night life. We had fun at Boracay Regency (beachfront hotel) having disco with live band at night, where beach is only a few steps away and the hotel is close to D'Mall and talipapa to buy our pasalubongs. They have pools for kids and kids at heart. The staff were friendly and had always greeted us upon entry into the hotel. But if you want to stay away from the band noise...this hotel is not your place. I just wish that we went there during off peak season where the crowd felt just right...so as to appreciate the gorgeous beach...(Note: This was my experience in the year 2005 and my review of BORACAY in AKLAN, PHILIPPINES )

I'M ON TV! ^_^

Posted by Meryl (proud pinay)

When I was employed at my second job (SPLPI), I became an active member of Music Ministry and we sang in The Talitha-Kum Healing Mass on TV sponsored by the St. Peter Community and officiated by the healing priest Fr. Joey Faller at NBN Channel 4 in Visayas Ave. Quezon City. Fr. Faller also has a place in Lucban, Quezon called “Kamay ni Jesus” shrine where the grotto has 305 steps with Station of the Cross and on top is the third tallest resurrected Christ edifice in the whole world. (Note:picture taken in the year 2005 by my sister while she was watching me on television at home)

We also performed successfully at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) and received a lot of good compliments from different nations who atteded the big event. Wow! I can't forget this one guy(if I'm not mistaken a Singaporean) who said that our choir is the best from what he heard. Other choir from different places and different countries performed well too.Btw, after the main event, Dacks Martin, our co-choir member who got a very poooooowerful voice sang. Would you believe, after he sang the communion song during the mass in PICC the audience gave him a huuuuuuuge round of applause! ^_^ hehehe ....audience were toooo carried away and forgot that it was a holy mass. ^_^
