My baby started responding to my flashcards at about 7 months. I thought it was just a coincidence that she was getting the right card with the corresponding words that I told her to get, but after a month I was convinced because she's getting the same right card for the corresponding words I tell her! So I started taking a video of her getting the flashcards on her 8th month and she's getting better at it every single month by pointing or acting out the words!
It also amazes us how wide her vocabulary is now compared to last month. She can say about 16-18 words now.

PARENT'S CHOICE INFANT FORMULA NOW ON WALMART.COM

Posted by Meryl (proud pinay)

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of PBM Products. All opinions are 100% mine.

Did you know that all infant formulas are subject to the same regulations governing manufacturing and ingredients as stipulated by the Infant Formula Act? Well, I have learned recently that store brand formula meets the same FDA nutritional requirements as all major brands. If that is the case, then you can save much money buying store brand formula since it is as good as the other major brands. Also, it fulfills not only the quality but also the safety requirements of the FDA as it is inspected the same way as the name brands. Anyway, are you a parent who is considering switching to generic formula for your babies?. You might want to try Parent's Choice formula. Parent's Choice Formula meets all FDA nutritional standards like the national brands. It offers complete nutrition for babies ages 0-12 months and are available in a range of formulas to address common feeding issues. You can buy Parent's Choice infant formula not only in-store but also on-line and ready to ship right to your home! Plus, there is no additional charge for the shipping! It's easy to find Parent's Choice infant formula on Walmart.com's Baby Center so visit the site now. You can buy case sizes only (4 or 6 units). Powder and ready to feed formulas are also available.By the way, have you heard about the Similac Recall? Parents who are using Similac formula are worried for their babies because certain lots of Similac powdered baby formula may contain beetles or their larvae. I have one Similac container here at home and have found out it is recalled! Good thing I haven't opened it yet to feed my baby. If your baby drinks Similac, I advise you to check the formula's lot number to see if it is part of the recall. You must stop using it immediately if it is included in the recall. Most of the parents now switched to generic formula upon hearing about the news. How about you? Are you one of the parents like me who want to switch to generic formula? I suggest you try, Parent's Choice infant formula for your baby!

SIMILAC RECALL

Posted by Meryl (proud pinay)

To all parents out there who are using Similac for their little ones, have you heard about the Similac recall? Abbott Laboratories warned the public that there are certain lot numbers of Similac powder baby formula that may contain beetles or larvae. Babies who drink formula containing the beetles or their larvae, could experience symptoms of gastrointestinal discomfort and refusal to eat as a result of small insect parts irritating the GI tract. If your baby drinks Similac infant formula, you might want to check the formula's lot number here to see if it is included in the recall. Stop using it immediately if it is part of the recall! Just wanted to share this with other parents like me, especially those who are using Similac.

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of PBM Products. All opinions are 100% mine.

I'm a certified mom now! Oh yeah! I just give birth a few days a ago and was so busy these past few days with my little bundle of joy having no time for other usual activities that I was attached to before my baby arrived. Anyway, as a new parent I want only the best for my baby. I considered the advice from my friends, in-laws, relatives and family members to be helpful as well as the parenting classes that my husband and I attended. I am breastfeeding my baby these past few days but after not too long I am seeing myself using infant formula too. One of my friends advised me to use Bright Beginnings available at diapers.com with its new beautiful can design.

NONSTRESS TEST FOR PREGNANCY

Posted by Meryl (proud pinay)

I had my nonstress test yesterday at the hospital since I have gone past my due date and my OB wants to see how my baby is holding up during her extended stay in my womb. The procedure is painless and is used to evaluate my baby's condition. The nurse monitored my baby's heartbeat, movements, and kicks. Just as when my heart beats faster when I'm active, my baby's heart rate should go up while she's moving or kicking. During the procedure, I lied on my side. The nurse strapped two devices to my belly hooked to a computer. One monitors my baby's heartbeat and movements while the other one records the contractions in my uterus. I was asked to press a button whenever I felt my baby move. My contractions and my baby's movements were recorded on paper. The procedure lasted for about 30-40 minutes. So far everything is fine with my baby. The result is normal. Her heart rate didn't drop during my contraction, which means that there's no problem with my placenta and my baby's oxygen supply is not compromised.

WE JUST BOUGHT A BABY CRIB

Posted by Meryl (proud pinay)

We are all set for the coming of our little one. Last weekend after we went to a birthday party we decided to go to Target and buy a baby crib. My husband prefers to shop at the store rather than online so he could see personally and feel if the material is durable. Fortunately, we've found a sturdy crib with changing table and hamper at a great price. My husband assembled the crib as soon as we got home and arranged the nursery room. Also, a few weeks ago I already packed the things we need to bring to the hospital. We are all set, ready to take off and go to the hospital as soon as I have my contractions. We're both excited for the coming of our baby.

MY WEEKLY CHECK UP

Posted by Meryl (proud pinay)

Just got back from my weekly check up today. I'm having my weekly check for the whole month of June till I deliver my baby. My half centimeters dilation from 2 weeks ago has not progressed yet so I might be waiting for another few days or weeks till I give birth. Nine more days to go till my due date but I'm hoping that I will deliver my baby anytime soon since she is now considered full term and my tummy gets heavier and heavier each day, and of course I'm excited to see my baby too.

Now that my due date is getting closer, I have weekly check-ups for this whole month of June until my delivery. My check up went fine. I dilated a half centimeter from last week's check up but for this week there's no progress yet. As usual they get a urine sample from me, weigh me and measure the height of my fundus. I have had more Braxton Hicks contractions these past few days now. Tomorrow I will be on my 38th week of pregnancy! Yep, getting closer!

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Boudreaux's Butt Paste. All opinions are 100% mine.

I'm now on my 33rd week of pregnancy! Not only are my husband and I so excited about the upcoming birth of our first baby but my family, relatives and friends are all excited as well. I already had my baby shower and received lots of gifts from my friends. Aside from the gifts, I also received advice and suggestions from them on what baby products are effective and best for babies based on the products they've already tried and used. One of the products they've mentioned is Boudreaux's Butt Paste. It's a diaper rash ointment and skin protectant which helps treat and prevent diaper rash, protects chafed skin, and seals out wetness. It spreads on easily, cleans off quickly, and has a pleasant scent. Some of my friends who used this product on their babies said that it's very effective. It treats the diaper rash of their babies, soothes irritated skin and it is pediatrician recommended too. Plus, this product is featured on shows and in magazines like the Oprah Show, Tonight Show, Today show, People Magazine, ESPN and While You Were Out on TLC. Anyway, they are very satisfied with this product so I would definitely try this product on my baby since this product is proven effective and safe.By the way, Boudreaux's Butt Paste is available in a convenient foil pack, 1oz, 2oz, 3oz, 4 oz tubes and 16oz jar. You can buy it in drug, discount or grocery store chains nationwide. You can also get a free sample for you to try! Time flies by so fast! I'm now on my 33rd week of pregnancy. My baby weighs a little over 4 pounds now. Her skin is becoming less red and is rapidly losing the wrinkled, alien look. Her skeleton is hardening but still she has plenty of growing up to do. She is moving frequently and her pokes and kicks becomes more strong now.

Below is an image of what a 33-week old baby somewhat looks like(image source: babycenter.com)
