WHAT ARE THE ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES OF OWNING A CREDIT CARD?

One of my friends is still undecided if she will get a credit card or not because some of her officemates advised her not to get it while others say that having a credit card is advantageous. Well, there are several advantages and disadvantages of credit cards, right? It depends on how you handle it. It can become a liability if not handled carefully especially if you loose control of your spending because you find it so convenient to use. On the other hand, it can be an asset to your lifestyle if handled properly. My friend asked my opinion about this and I messaged back in return giving her some guides that I found online which will help her decide and for her to understand how credit cards can be used to her advantage as well as their disadvantages. How about you guys? What are your experiences in handling your credit cards? Is it advantageous to you or not? Can you give some suggestions or your opinions of having a credit card if it is good or not, based on your personal experience. Thanks!
